Nimbusa ("we", "our", "us") operates the 2U mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App. 2U connects mobile mechanics with vehicle owners who need work done — the mechanic comes to you.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Apple Sign-In: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address.
- Email/Password: If you sign up with email, we collect your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password (handled by Firebase Authentication).
Profile Information
- Mechanics: Display name, bio, specialties, vehicle types serviced, certifications, years of experience, service area, hourly rate, portfolio photos, and tools/equipment.
- Clients: Display name, vehicle information (year, make, model, VIN), and saved locations.
Location Data
- With your permission, we collect your location to show nearby mechanics, enable job matching, and track mechanic arrival during active jobs. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings.
Photos
- Profile photos, portfolio images, job documentation photos, and MPI (Multi Point Inspection) report photos you voluntarily upload. These are stored in Firebase Storage.
Communications
- Messages sent between mechanics and clients, job descriptions, bids, and proposals.
Financial Information
- Payment history processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number. Mechanic payout preferences are managed via Stripe Connect.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account.
- To match clients with nearby mechanics.
- To facilitate job posting, bidding, booking, and scheduling.
- To process payments and mechanic payouts through Stripe.
- To enable in-app messaging.
- To display MPI inspection reports.
- To track mechanic location during active jobs.
- To calculate ratings, reviews, and experience levels.
- To send service notifications.
- To improve the App and fix bugs.

4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase servers. We use Firebase Security Rules to restrict access. All network communication uses HTTPS encryption. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, personal data is removed within 30 days. Payment records are retained for 7 years (legal/tax requirement). Anonymized reviews and aggregated analytics may be retained.
6. Your Rights
- Access: View your data within the App (Profile section).
- Correction: Update your profile information at any time.
- Deletion: Delete your account from Settings.
- Location: Disable location access in device settings.
- Camera & Photos: Revoke camera or photo library access in device settings.
- Ad Personalization: Limit ad tracking in iOS settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.
7. Children's Privacy
2U is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
