Nimbusa ("we", "our", "us") operates the Treasure This! mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Apple Sign-In: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address. Apple may provide a private relay email address if you choose to hide your email.
- Email/Password Accounts: If you create an account with email and password, we collect your email address, chosen display name, and a securely hashed password (handled by Firebase Authentication).
Profile Information
- Display name (Explorer Name), explorer level, XP, and gameplay statistics (treasures found and hidden).
Location Data
- With your permission, we collect your location to show nearby treasures on the map and guide you during treasure hunts. Location is used in real time for proximity-based clue unlocking and is not stored on our servers beyond what is needed for the treasure coordinates you create. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings.
Photos
- Photos you voluntarily attach to treasures you create or find. These are stored in Firebase Storage and may be visible to other users who interact with the same treasure.
Game Data
- Treasures you create (titles, descriptions, clues, coordinates, difficulty, and terrain type).
- Treasure finds (comments, ratings, time to find).
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the App, including treasure maps, hunts, and clue progression.
- To display your profile and explorer stats to other players.
- To show treasures near your location.
- To track your progress (XP, level, treasures found and hidden).
- To improve the App and fix bugs.

4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase servers. We use Firebase Security Rules to restrict access so that users can only read and modify their own data. Treasure data marked as public is visible to all authenticated users. All network communication uses HTTPS encryption. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Treasure listings and find records persist to maintain accurate statistics and allow other users to discover treasures. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Treasures you created may be retained in anonymized form so other users' find history remains consistent.
6. Your Rights
- Access: You can view your data within the App (Profile tab).
- Deletion: You can delete your account from Settings, which removes your personal data.
- Location: You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.
- Camera & Photos: You can revoke camera or photo library access at any time in your device settings.
7. Children's Privacy
Treasure This! is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
